What the Experts are saying about the development of Artificial Intelligence.

Bill Gates speaking on the podcast Next Big Idea says Superhuman AI is coming. He said,

 -          Gpt4 is already in many respects “super human.”

 -          Achieving human-like “metacognition” or consciousness is the big frontier. It will be human-like. We will make progress on that over the next year but we will solve it sometime after that.

Geoffrey Hinton and Yoshua Bengio are known as the “Godfathers of AI”

When interviewed by Scott Pelley of 60 Minutes, Hinton was asked if AI can now understand us. He replied, “Yes.”

When interviewed on CNN, Bengio said “the nightmare is the end of humanity. There’s no point of having a cure for cancer five years from now if we all die ten years from now.”

Prior to a meeting in the UK at the AI Safety Summit, Elon Musk said he thinks AI could lead to humanity’s extinction.

Maybe, it’s not that bad.

We don’t know how the reality of AI will end for us.

But could it be the end of us?
